The Marsh strives to hire young men and women who have the skills and desire to work with children. These are individuals who want to see kids have fun, acquire new skills, and learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. All of our staff take part in an intensive week long training program that includes certification in CPR and First Aid.
This is my second year as Director of The Marsh. My first year was great!
I have been involved with camp and kids my whole life!
I grew up going to a girls camp in the Adirondacks of upstate New York, led backpacking trips in college (which is how I met my husband Nate) and facilitated outdoor ed for 5th and 6th graders in Michigan. Along the way, I led Pioneer Girls and directed children’s ministry at two different churches.
I have two boys who are lifelong Marshians, and a black lab named Edith who is my 4 legged alarm clock. For fun I enjoy reading, running and eating donuts, though rarely at the same time!
Can’t wait to see you this summer – Evelyn
Hello! My name is Chief Em and I am 19 years old. This will be my second summer at The Marsh and I could not be more excited! I am originally from Elkton, Maryland, and I currently attend Messiah College as a junior Music Education major.
I love singing, hiking, kayaking, eating, and traveling. I am looking forward to all of the wonderful adventures that this summer will bring!
See you soon! – Emily
HEY FELLOW MARSHIANS! I can’t believe it’s that time of the year again and boy, AM I READY FOR CAMP! As some of you know, my name is Daniel (otherwise known as Chief Danny) and this is going to be my second summer at the Marsh.
Some might recall that I am a multicultural kid: Born in Brazil, raised in Caracas, Venezuela, for ten years, and recently have been living in Minnesota and then Baltimore for the last year. While finishing my senior year of school I have been working at a YMCA as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. If all goes well, by the end of this summer I should be heading off to college, Liberty University to be exact, to study Social work in hopes to someday become a Family Counselor.
I absolutely LOVE hanging with friends, listening to music, being creative, going to interesting places, being super silly, swimming, playing gaga and just having fun. I also love teaching. Want to know what a word means in Spanish? Want to know how to draw something random? Want to know what bugs not to touch? Then good, because I want to learn something new too!
Alrighty guys! I can’t wait to see what the next summer full of wildness holds for us! Full of fun, sports, water and JESUS! I can’t wait to see all your familiar faces and some not so familiar faces! Get ready for a WILD SUMMER!
RUN WILD, LOVE JESUS and LIVE LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING –
Hi! My name is Lauren Ransil, although I am known at the Marsh as Chief Wren. This will be my second summer of adventures at the Marsh, and I cannot wait for the fun to begin! I live in the woods of Pennsylvania with my awesome family and my huge St. Bernard, Samson. While I am waiting for summertime and camp to start, I go to Messiah College (with Chief Em!) where I am studying Biopsychology. One day, I’d like to be a genetic counselor.
My favorite things are adventures, turtles, cups of tea, really bad puns (I laugh every time), dancing around like a hooligan, making up songs as I go places, good talks with good friends (while drinking tea) and Jesus. I love to learn new things, including weird facts about animals! Why are flamingos pink? Ask me sometime!! Do you have a cool fact? Tell me!
The Marsh is my favorite place in the whole world, even though I love to travel, and I am looking forward to sharing the love of Jesus this summer. I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in my life this summer, as well as the lives of the campers.
Hi there! I’m chief Liz from the Baltimore, Maryland, area. I am an upcoming college sophomore and I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. I am passionate about music, performing arts, teaching, and most of all, my relationship with Jesus Christ.
While I have a history of attending Camp Sandy Cove in West Virginia, and Family Camp at Sandy Cove, Maryland, this is my first year on staff at the Marsh. I am pumped to go on an adventure with the staff and children of the Marsh this summer as we seek God and discover what He has in store for us at camp! Just a few fun facts about me are: I love the color yellow, I am a bit obsessed with elephants and I have a soft spot for all things musical theatre. I can’t wait to get to know you this summer at the Marsh!
Hi! My name is Kolleen Watkins and I am so excited to be coming back to the Marsh this summer. I am 21 years old and am going into my senior year at Liberty University for an elementary/middle school teaching degree. I live in Maryland and have a beagle named Snoopy and four kittens. I love playing soccer and had a blast going skydiving and going to Jamaica during the school year.
I am super excited to bring new ideas and a lot of fun to the Marsh this summer. I can’t wait to be able to share Christ’s love with the campers and have some fun doing so throughout the summer.
See you soon!
Hi, my name is Sandi Wilcke and I am going to be a chief at The Marsh this summer! After an awesome and crazy summer last year I am coming back to impact the kids that come to our swamp!
I grew up across the sea in South America in a country called Bolivia. I am getting my degree from Lancaster Bible College with a minor in children and family ministry! I’m extremely passionate about kids and my faith. This summer I am excited to impact kids for Jesus, and show them God’s love. A couple of things about me are: my favorite color is yellow, I will be junior class president next year, and I love cats. I am praying that this summer will grow me and will help both me and the kids I interact with to better experience God and enjoy living life.
See you soon! – Sandi
Hello! I’m Tommy Yanosky. I’m 17 years old and I’m from Baltimore, Maryland. My home church is called Greater Grace World Outreach. This year I graduated from Greater Grace Christian Academy. I’m certified in First Aid and CPR. I was an assistant Sunday School teacher for two years in the four your old class. In the summer of 2014, I taught swimming lessons to children under the age of five at the Michael Phelps Swim School in Baltimore, Maryland. I’ve played varsity soccer and baseball for four years of my high school career. I also enjoy basketball, tennis, volleyball…really all sports! Some of my favorite things are art, music, and fellowship with friends. I also enjoy traveling. In February, 2016, by God’s grace, I traveled to Izmir, Turkey, with a group of 10 and then over to Budapest, Hungary. On the first day of the Marsh I will have just returned from 10 days in Thailand with my senior class! I cannot wait to see what God has planned for us at the Marsh this summer and I’m very excited to meet you all!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
More Chiefs coming soon!
“Just wanted to let you know my daughter had the time of her life at your camp. The first day she asked about attending a second week. Thank you so much for your staff making your camp so great. We will for sure be signing up next year!”
