    Pioneer Campsites

Campers desiring 2 or 3-point hookups should consider a site in the Pioneer Campground, which accommodates trailers and motor homes. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. There is a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities, coin-op laundry facilities, as well as a swimming pool (modest swimsuits are required for adults and children…one-piece for girls of all ages, baggy shorts for men and boys), central firepit and picnic grove. A dump station is available for use. The camp office carries basic groceries, ice and ice cream novelties.

    Wilderness Campsites

Wilderness Campground is the home of all seasonal campers. There are a few additional sites for non-seasonal campers. Some sites are ideal for tent campers with no hookups provided. Other sites can accommodate trailers or motor homes, with 2-point hookups available (water and electric). All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Honey Wagon service and a dump station are provided. There is a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities, a playground, a central firepit, and a pavilion.

Note: Perkins Pool is for Marsh Camp use only. Campground guests are welcome to enjoy the pools at the Chesapeake Lodge.

    FIREWOOD

Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, and other invasive beetles, Sandy Cove follows the Maryland Department of Natural Resources guidelines for firewood.

It is the policy of the Sandy Cove Ministries to prohibit the importation of firewood to campsites in both the Pioneer and Wilderness Campgrounds from the campers’ private supply of firewood. Firewood must be purchased from the Sandy Cove Ministries or from firewood vendors local to Sandy Cove Ministries.
