Sandy Cove Ministries has created Operation Oasis as a way to say thank you for the sacrifices made by our military. We offer FREE stays! Our desire is that Sandy Cove would be an “oasis” for moms and dads and boys and girls – a place to rest and reconnect with one another after deployment.
Any service man or woman in uniform, including those in the Reserve and National Guard, returning home from an overseas deployment that separated them from their family, may come to Sandy Cove with their immediate family for FREE! One time opportunity.
This includes comfortable accommodations in the Chesapeake Lodge or Pioneer Campground cabins, all meals, recreation and program if scheduled.
Five nights for a family of four would normally cost up to $2400, but through generous donations, Sandy Cove is able to offer this as a FREE gift to military families to help you bond together and relax in a Christian atmosphere. One FREE visit per family.
Men and women in uniform are coming home from the war battle-weary and often changed. Many of them are suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is affecting their transition back into home life. Often the families left at home have had their own battles to fight, making the transition even harder. At Sandy Cove, we want to help these brave military families find their way back together in a beautiful ‘oasis’ where they can rest and reconnect following deployment to the war.
Sandy Cove Ministries is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal from the DC National Guard.
…or any time your schedule allows!
If no program or event falls during the time you wish to stay, join us for a two-night getaway together as a family or as a couple. It will still be a peaceful, quiet time regrouping together as a family on the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay.

This weekend made us realize that we jumped back to the daily grind too quickly when my husband returned from his deployment. We have been playing ‘catch-up’ on home, finances, work, etc., when we needed more time to ease back into being a family. Operation Oasis has made us realize that we need to not let the ‘gravel’ of life consume our time as it has been – but we need time to put the ‘big rocks’ of God and family first, and the rest will take care of itself. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!

We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the role that you have played in helping us to reconnect after deployment. We have truly been blessed through Operation Oasis. We laughed, we cried, we prayed together in this spiritually awesome place.
This is our family’s first chance to get away together since my recent return from Afghanistan. Sandy Cove is the only place that has lifted our family up to God. To feel the comfort and presence of God like we have here has been like coming home to a wonderful, warm hug.
Thank you so much for serving those who serve. I was looking forward to this trip while I was in Afghanistan. It helped me while there, knowing I had something like this to attend and reconnect with my family. I know I am very blessed with my family, faith and country – your Operation Oasis, staff and facility are wonderful reminders of God’s grace.
Thank you to the staff and donors of Sandy Cove for allowing us to experience peace, tranquility, and restoration this weekend through Operation Oasis. God’s presence is all around us here. Blessings on all of you for your ministry to, not only the body, but to those of us who serve the Lord in the military. I will never forget Sandy Cove and your generosity following my 17-month deployment away from my family.
To all the folks who made Sandy Cove a reality for us. This week has had a profound impact on our family in so many ways. We came here intentionally to both reconnect from my last deployment and reprioritize for my upcoming deployment in just a few short weeks. We have been in a constant state of transition for the last several years with deployment moves, birth of our third child etc. In short, we have experienced some incredibly dark moments with seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel. This week has once again awakened us to the power of God to transform life. Dark days, no doubt, lie ahead, but we have recommitted as a family to see each day as day one. This simply would not have happened without Sandy Cove. Thank you to all who made this possible. It will never be forgotten!
