Messes and Miracles…Turning Trials into Triumphs!

Ecclesiastes 3:11 with Ellie Lofaro

Sessions with Ellie Lofaro

  • The Sacred Virtue: Humility. Learn the difference between meekness and weakness and how harnessing this “mother of all virtues” brings peace and power.
  • The Smelly Flesh: Thou Stinketh! The Bible says we are all sinners and that no one is perfect enough for heaven. So why is it called “the good news?”
  • The Sweet Fruit: What’s in YOUR Basket? The Fruit of the Spirit is sweet, satisfying and abundant. So why is life filled with wrinkled skin, worms, and lots of pits?
  • The Step Forward: Battle Stations!!! How do we respond to battles in our heads and homes—not to mention the ones in the headlines. What does it mean to be a Warrior Princess? Suit up for victory!

Special Guests

Ellie Lofaro

Ellie Lofaro is a first generation American and the second of five children in a “very Italian” family. A native New Yorker, she speaks of being brought up “with the awareness of God, but not the experience of God.” However, when she encountered a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, she realized her new identity as a “Capital C Christian;” “highly flawed, fully forgiven and greatly favored.”

Completely convinced of God’s love and His mandate to “go and tell,” Ellie has committed her life to using her time and talent to inspire others with His goodness and grace.

Ellie’s message is a wonderful blend of plainspoken truth, common sense practicality and disarming humor. Drawing from the context of real life, she deftly handles the Word of God and steadily directs her audiences to consider what concerns them in light of God’s timeless truths. With her trademark quick wit and convincing demeanor, she pairs Biblical principles with life’s deeper questions. The result? An audience who willingly joins Ellie in the journey toward better understanding and applying God’s grace and truth to their lives.

Equally comfortable sharing the “Great News” alongside acclaimed teachers at national conferences, on a television broadcast, or roaming the halls during a midnight search for chocolate at a women’s retreat, Ellie effuses a natural ease and engaging warmth. As her friend Patsy Clairmont once said about meeting Ellie for the first time; “she is the kind of person you immediately hope will always be your friend.”

A serious student of Scripture and a keen observer of the culture, Ellie has developed a unique teaching style that touches the heart, stimulates the mind, and nourishes the soul — thus inspiring her to found Heart Mind & Soul Ministries. She has been blessed with a broad array of opportunities to communicate her passion for Christ. Ellie’s ministry involves international speaking engagements (has taught on five continents), authoring books, teaching a weekly interdenominational Bible Study and appearing on radio and television.

Ellie’s newest book will expound on the joys and heartaches of motherhood. (Release date TBD.) Working Title: “It’s All My Fault!”… Confessions of a Well Meaning Mother. Learn from her mistakes! Leap of Faith, endorsed by Chuck Colson, encourages us to embrace the life God promises. From Battle Scars to Beauty Marks conveys powerful portraits of women who turned trials to triumph. Spaghetti for the Soul, A Celebration of the Abundant Life, examines Biblical truth about faith, hope, and love for the modern woman. Slices of Life and Bonding with the Blonde Women are collections of serious, humorous and provocative essays. She has also written for Today’s Christian Woman, Women of Faith’s Connection Magazine, and has contributed to compilations from seven publishing houses. Ellie has been featured on Focus on the Family, Life Today, CBN’s Living the Life, 100 Huntley Street, The Harvest Show as well as The Moody, Salem, Bott and Le Sea Broadcasting Networks. The Focus on the Family broadcast was the third most requested CD of the year.

Ellie and her husband Frank (CEO of Prison Fellowship International), reside near the nation’s capital. They have three very likable grown children.

Worship Leader
Alyce Metallo

“I just have one word to say about her – ENERGY!” – Stevie Wonder

The path to soulful pop prominence is often defined by the company one keeps, and in the case of Alyce Metallo, a former high-school teacher from Washington, DC, the journey’s been riddled with a remarkable collaborative lineage. Though music (particularly playing piano) was in her blood since the tender age of two, the Singer/Songwriter would eventually encounter a series of extraordinary circumstances that paved the way to her full time artistic endeavors.

From her earliest professional performances at the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music at Catholic University, the College of Fine Arts at Howard University in Washington D.C. (where she earned an Education and Piano degree) or at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain as an exchange student, the burgeoning troubadour possessed the gift to sing and additionally expressive gifts for writing, performing, arranging and producing.

Along the way, she amassed a plethora of prominent credits, including a choir slot alongside the likes of Luther Vandross, Diana Ross and Kenny Rogers at Bill Clinton’s inauguration, a return engagement to the White House as a choir director for VH1’s Save the Music with John Mellencamp, plus multiple appearances with that same star and Stevie Wonder at School Night (also in the nation’s capital). There are also appearances at the National Building Museum, numerous Kennedy Center concerts (alongside Vanessa Williams, Yolanda Adams, Jeff Majors, Regina Belle and Richard Smallwood), plus a twelve-day performance tour throughout Europe (with a prestigious “International Song of Peace” Award from Ireland to her credit) and Metallo’s earned her artistic stripes with an unflinching commitment to the performance arena.

Thanks to the continual prodding of her husband Walter Metallo, plus her Worship Pastor and Mentors, Marty McCall (from Grammy Award-winning act First Call) and producer Fletch Wiley (Andrae Crouch), she eventually dove deep into a songwriting career and has been in full-time music ministry since 2006. Metallo is currently a worship leader at McLean Bible Church in Tysons Corner, VA where Lon Solomon is the Senior Pastor. She is a member of the award-winning, DC-based improv troup NowThis! and is a doting mother of three beautiful girls. She and her family reside in Northern, VA.
