People say, "Isn't it wonderful he's with the Lord," and you want to yell, "No! He should be here with me."
Spend a weekend with other women who have lost their husbands to death. You will be with people who understand your journey. Come share your heart and your hurt and be encouraged as we remind ourselves that, hard as it is, our God is able. Learn from women who are where you are, women who have weathered grief and difficult times.
Miriam Neff: WHO AM I NOW? 13 years ago I found myself single as ALS took Bob from me. I felt ripped in half. I needed to see that God was yet good. Discover with me that God has great and good plans for us. They’re unseen and unexpected but real, far greater than anything we could imagine.
Ann Piper: FINDING JOY At 44 years old, I was stunned to learn that I had renal cell carcinoma. As my precious husband, Matt, and I grappled with the unknown, he said something I’ll never forget. “If something goes terribly wrong and I’m left to raise our two boys on my own, I will get up every day and find the joy the Lord has for me.” Instead, I’m the one who had to apply those words as Matt died just three months after that conversation.
Dr. Denise Rollins: THE WHOLEHEARTED WIDOW'S JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE, LOSS & LOVE Dr. Denise Rollins employs humor, storytelling and insight as she translates her pain and purpose into transformational principles that inspire women to evaluate their whole lives, examine their holes from loss and embrace wholehearted love as they move toward their eternal purpose.
Jennifer Sands: BY GOD'S GRACE God used the tragic loss of my husband Jim on 9/11 to bring me to salvation. I’ll take you through that terrible day, but I won’t linger there because the best comes after. I want to take you on my journey of hope, healing and victory in Christ.
During small group discussions, individuals will have the opportunity to briefly share the stories of their own widowhood and glean helpful tips from the experiences of others. Encouragement, smiles and tissues provided! If you are not a widow and attending in support, please understand that the small groups are for Widows only.
The Widow's Journey is always encouraging to me personally, allowing me to encourage others and also to hear from God on what He has for me at this stage of my journey and offering nuggets of wisdom that help me go deeper with Him. Anonymous
It is always encouraging to meet with widows and hear their stories how God is working in their lives and to know other women and realize God is not finished with us. Sylvia, Ephrata, PA
Enjoyed everything - especially the speakers. Everything pointed to God's faithfulness in the journey of widowhood. Top notch conference at a great location. Joleta, Yukon, OK
It's been a mountaintop experience - worship, speakers, fellowship with other widows - all excellent!. Amy, Gaithersburg, MD
This experience was just what I needed! I feel closer to God and comforted in His love that I truly needed at this difficult time. Susan, Ephrata, PA
My stay at Sandy Cove was so awesome for Widows Weekend!! The whole program was comfortably organized, insightful, inspiring and fun. The ladies I got to meet and converse with helped to ‘make’ the weekend for me. By Sunday morning’s speaker and the hymns we sang, there were tears flowing…..It is Well with my Soul! The view from the huge windows as we passed from place to place was such a Wow factor. We had boated on these waters in years past, so to see it all again and the sun come out was awe inspiring and a memory instigator….so great! Thanks for all you did for me. Sharon
