Gigi was born Georgia Gay Maxwell in Columbus, Ohio; the 7th of 10 children. On the day she was born, her mother cried…not tears of joy, but of sorrow because her new baby girl had only 1 hand. Her father was heartbroken and guilt-ridden. But sorrow turned to joy when the Lord opened their eyes to the truth of Romans 8:28… All things work together for good to those who love God. They put their confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ and experienced the truth of God’s word. Gigi grew up (with some bumps along the way), got married and had 2 children. She then received her degree in Occupational Therapy from The Ohio State University in 1988. Her husband, Terry Williams, moved the family to Elkton, Maryland, where she now resides. After 40 years of marriage, Gigi became a widow when she and Terry were on vacation in their hometown of Columbus.
In this new season of life, Gigi too, has experienced the truth of Romans 8:28. God indeed is involved in every detail of her life. His loving care protects, guides and strengthens her every day. Joy fills her heart as she ministers to others in her community, church and travels.
Gigi has chronicled her life’s journey in her book, “God’s Hand in My ONE” and in her YouTube channel, “Gigi’s One-Handed Ways.”
