A Sandy Cove Weekend away for women by GIRLFRIENDS IN GOD

Join us for a gorgeous fall Weekend Getaway at Sandy Cove! Leaves turning color, crisp fall air - and a weekend retreat of worship and fellowship with hundreds of other women, will refresh your Spirit!

Girlfriends in God is a non-denominational ministry that crosses generational and racial boundaries to bring the Body of Christ together as believers. Just as God sent Ruth to Naomi and Mary to Elizabeth, God continues to use women to encourage and equip other women in their spiritual journey. We are doing life together!

Nursing moms and their babies are welcome! There will be a special room set up with video feed to the sessions.

We also encourage you to register and bring your older next-generation teenagers to enhance their growth in the Lord.

    RISE UP!

    Main Sessions

Mary: Rise Up and Live (session 1)

Gwen: Rise Up with Power (session 2)

Sharon: Rise Up with Courage (session 3)

If ever there was a group of women who rose up with courage, it was the women in the New Testament. During a time in history when women were treated like property, had no rights, could not speak to men in public, could not attend a gathering of men, could not testify in court, and were not even counted as people, these women rose up. And why? Because Jesus called them to rise up! He called them out of the shadows and into the spotlight to play major roles in the most important story of human history. And he is calling you too. In this session we will walk in the steps of these courageous women and see how their story is your story.

Mary: Rise Up with Faith (session 4)

Sharon: Rise Up and Move Forward (session 5)

So what comes next after we rise up with courage and power? We move forward to live bold. Jesus called a lame man sitting beside a pool to rise up. Jesus called a blind beggar to rise up and wash his eyes. But then what? In this last session, we will focus on the next steps to living a life that empowered by God.

    Breakout Sessions

Billie Jo's: Broken Crayons Still Color

Do you remember when a new box of crayons in your backpack for the first day of school sent your heart soaring; only to be discouraged a few months later when the wrappers were peeled, points were broken, and some were snapped in half? Do you feel like that’s the story of YOUR life? Join Billie Jo as she offers practical solutions and Biblical insight into allowing God to transform your mess into His masterpiece...because, after all, broken crayons still color!

Do you ever feel like a train wreck? Overcommitted, ineffective and distracted? Like your flaws, fears and failures are more consistent than the rising and setting of the sun? If so, take heart, girlfriend, because you’re not alone. Join Gwen for an honest discussion on the grit we all have and the grace we all need. This session will encourage your heart in meaningful ways to live out and lean on the grace of Jesus in the midst of cluttered, messy days.

Julie's: Living a Ten Mina Life

If you, or someone you love, has questions or even doubts about the Bible, Jesus, and God in general...that is ok! God wants us to ask questions about him. He is not afraid nor is He offended by questions. Sometimes doubt is really the raw side of honesty. So, let’s get honest and let light be shed on doubts and questions. Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life and in Him and His creation are the answers. By unpacking the Parable of the Ten Minas in Luke we will address the various kinds of doubt that keep us, or those we love from living the full life Jesus came to give us.

Mary's: Divine Surprises: 7 Habits of a Highly Successful Woman

What did God create you to do? Are you doing it? "Divine Surprises: 7 Habits of a Successful Woman" offers seven practical steps that will help you discover your true purpose in life. We were created to love and serve God with passion and with joy. Just imagine your life if you could:

    • Experience the power that comes from rest and solitude
    • Practice gratitude and learn how to be content
    • Eliminate destructive habits that keep you from being who God created you to be
    • Cultivate powerful habits that will help you find and do God's will
    Megan's: Stop Sabotaging Yourself!

Life can come at you full speed. What are you doing to protect your emotional well-being? What are you doing to set yourself up to crash? What are you doing to recover and heal? Where is God when you need Him? Let's dig deeper together and discovery the answers as well as tips to do more than survive life.

Sharon's: Lovestruck: Discovering God’s Design for Romance, Marriage, and Sexual Intimacy from the Song of Solomon

Is that really in the Bible? That is a question women often ask when Sharon teaches on the Song of Solomon. In this overview, Sharon will explore God’s original design for romance, marriage, and sexual intimacy based on The Song of Solomon. With the Song as a backdrop, we will explore topics such as giving and receiving in marriage, restoring romance in the mundane, making intimacy a priority, avoiding the dangers of growing indifference, and creating time to pull away from life’s busyness. You’ll never look at palm trees and pomegranates the same again! (This session is for married or engaged women only.)
