    Campground Getaways

Sandy Cove will look different for the foreseeable future. Some activities will be closed, while others will open with changes. See below for current activities which will be updated as guidelines change.

We will expect you and all guests on your site to obey all state and federal guidelines currently in place. These guidelines will be posted. They include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Campers must be with immediate family members or people with which they reside.
    • Guidance on social distancing must be followed:
      • If you are currently sick, please stay home. If you were recently sick, please follow CDC guidelines on when to stop home isolation.
      • Limit your group to ten people or fewer, and stay at least six feet apart.
      • Allow adequate personal spacing at popular areas, overlooks, and activities.
      • Playgrounds are open - but a parent should stay with child.
      • Avoid congregating in the common areas or at the bathhouse.
    • Out-of-state visitors should follow the directives given to Maryland residents in addition to recommendations in their home states regarding travel and recreation.

Our Housekeeping staff will be thoroughly cleaning the bathhouse each morning using CDC-approved cleaners. Cleaners will be available in the bathhouse for campers who wish to clean the area before and after their personal use.

Due to the potential threat of the Emerald Ash Borer, and other invasive beetles, Sandy Cove follows the Maryland Department of Natural Resources guidelines for firewood.

It is the policy of Sandy Cove Ministries to prohibit the importation of firewood to campsites in both the Pioneer and Wilderness Campgrounds from the campers’ private supply of firewood. Firewood must be purchased from the Sandy Cove Ministries or from firewood vendors local to Sandy Cove Ministries.
