At Sandy Cove, we affectionately call seniors “Seasoned Citizens.” We have planned these special Seasoned Citizens Days luncheons with your tastes in mind! Wonderful music in styles you love. Biblical messages to encourage you. A delicious meal to enjoy with friends. Gather a group of seniors from your church or community and join us for a morning of connecting with God and each other!

Typical programs run from 9:45 am to 1:30 pm, with coffee available beginning at 9:15 am.

Wayne HeffelfingerWayne Heffelfinger, speaker

Wayne Heffelfinger is the Senior Pastor at Grace Bible Chapel in Rising Sun, Maryland where he has been serving since 1989. Previously he was the Associate Pastor to Youth and then the Pastor of Discipleship and Worship, before becoming the Senior Pastor in 2015.

He studied at Biblical Theological Seminary and Northeastern Bible College. He is an avid runner, loves to hunt and is a diehard Mets fan.

He and his wife Beth have three children, two sons-in-law and three grandchildren.

Wayne BakerRev. Wayne P. Baker, musician
Wayne Baker has been involved with Christian ministry for more than 50 years. He has been a Christian school administrator, serving in 6 different schools, throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to coming to the Christian school movement, he taught on the college level (Music) at Baptist Bible College (now Summit University) and assisted in editing a prominent church hymnal, Living Hymns. Throughout the years, Wayne and his wife, Barbara, have had an ongoing music ministry, traveling extensively both in and out the country.

Throughout his career, he has been a frequent convention speaker and presenter, has served as a board member with three Christian school associations, and served both as President and Vice President of the Mid Atlantic Christian Schools Association. For 8 years he also represented the Christian school movement as a member of the Blue Ribbon Schools panel for the US Department of Education.

In every ministry location Rev. Baker has also carried on church ministry. He served as music minister at all but one of the churches where he served as school principal. He also had a regular pulpit ministry, frequently speaking at church gatherings, filling pulpits for vacationing pastors, and speaking to young people.

James O'BryonJames F. O’Bryon, musician
Mr. O’Bryon is a consultant on national defense and security for various clients in both the private sector and the US government. He is owner of The O’Bryon Group.

Jim is also a songwriter and recording artist with 4 albums and has been a vocalist and instrumentalist at various church and community functions for many years. He has an active concert schedule and is a conference speaker on mathematics, education, music and the patent/copyright system. He’s also built his own harpsichord. Jim has worked as a radio announcer and newscaster at two different radio stations including 15 years with WRBS in Baltimore and as music director for churches in NJ, CT and MD. He serves on the Boards of a charitable trust in Connecticut, a seminary in New York, chairman a nonprofit organization headquartered in South Carolina, a vice-chairman of non-profit foundation in Colorado, and is an active member of the MIT Education Council.

Jim and his wife Adina live in BelAir, MD. They have 4 married children.

John W. GrothJohn Groth, speaker
John Groth is the CEO & Founder at Gallantry in Action, Inc., an Adjunct Instructor at University of Delaware and Executive Director and Founder at Men’s Ministry. He was a Chaplain for the United States Air Force, stationed in Dover, DE.

He studied at Princeton Theological Seminary and Ursinus College.

He is a former member of the Sandy Cove board of directors and his wife Ranelle works in Sandy Cove’s Human Resources Department.

Michael-FairclothMichael Faircloth, musician
Michael Faircloth is a recording artist, Christian concert pianist and veteran “Artist in Residence” at Sandy Cove for more than twenty years. He is an accomplished concert pianist who regularly blesses Sandy Cove audiences with his original arrangements of classical, traditional and contemporary Christian music. Michael’s music is impressive and powerful, balanced by his humble spirit and generous sense of humor. He currently serves as pianist/accompanist for The National Christian Choir and on Sunday mornings when Michael isn’t performing elsewhere, he serves in the music ministry at New Life Community Church in Kingsville, Maryland.

This is a Child Free Event. We love babies and children and we know you do too! But “Child Free Events” are your opportunity to be free from some of your normal daily responsibilities.
