Pioneer Campsites

Map of the Pioneer Campground

Campers desiring 2 or 3-point hookups should consider a site in the Pioneer Campground, which accommodates trailers and motor homes. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. There is a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities, coin-op laundry facilities, as well as a swimming pool (modest swimsuits are required for adults and children…one-piece for girls of all ages, baggy shorts for men and boys), small playground, central firepit and picnic grove. A dump station is available for use. The camp office carries basic groceries, ice and ice cream novelties.

There is a secluded Group Tent Camping Area accessible from the Pioneer Campground with no hookups.

Wilderness Campsites

Map of the Wilderness Campground

Wilderness Campground is the home of all seasonal campers. There are a few additional sites for non-seasonal campers. Some sites are ideal for tent campers with no hookups provided. Other sites can accommodate trailers or motor homes, with 2-point hookups available (water and electric). All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. Honey Wagon service and a dump station provided. There is a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities, central firepit and a pavilion. Sandy Cove will allow dogs in the Wilderness Campground only.

Doggy Do Rules for Dogs and Their Owners

Do #1 – Good behavior is required. Dogs of any breed that are hostile or aggressive may be asked to leave the campground.
Do #2 – Bring a leash. Dogs should be kept on leashes no longer than 6 feet when outside their owners’ trailer.
Do #3 – Remember manners. Constant barking bothers other campers. If your dog is too vocal, you’ll need to find other accommodations.
Do #4 – Keep your dog on your site. Dogs shouldn’t be able to reach the roadside while on their restraint at the campsite.
Do #5 – Clean up. Dog waste should be cleaned up immediately and discarded in the trashcans throughout the campground. This includes the walking trails. We have baggies at the camp store if you need them.
Do #6 – Remember safety. Any dog biting a person or another dog should be reported immediately to the office by all those involved.
Do #7 – Latch-key doggies. If your entire family is away from your campsite, your dog should have ventilation, water and food and should not bark for an extended period of time. Please post a number where you can be reached if a problem should arise.
Do #8 – Visitation rights. Dogs are allowed only at your campsite and in designated walking areas. Please keep your dog away from other guests’ campsites unless they are invited.
Do #9 – Dogs are only allowed in the Wilderness campground and shouldn’t be brought to other areas of Sandy Cove.
