Summer Together Family Camp Fusion Family Weekend is targeted specifically at families with kids elementary aged on up (though a few younger ones won’t hurt either…) and our goal is to see families strengthened for God’s glory!

We like to bring up FUSION because it sounds smart and scientific – but listen to what it means! Fusion – the scientific process where things are bonded together so strongly that they become different and also release a lot of energy!
That’s good science right there – families bonding, changing to be more like Jesus, and putting their energy toward His plans and purpose!
We’ve got some “Mad Scientists” coming to guide us in the laboratory, but this experiment is about your family taking time together…playing, eating, talking, worshipping and enjoying outstanding family shows that amaze all ages!
You’ll get a complete schedule, with all the details at check in.
Here’s a glimpse of some of the fun stuff, what the kids will do, where you’ll eat and a quick glance at a typical day.
Tons of great activities all packed into a weekend of family fun!
Archery, swimming, mini golf, ping pong, pony rides, wavecutter, Frisbee golf, BIG swing, rock wall, kayaking, shuffleboard, tennis, zip line… and a whole lot s’more!
Free time is fun time at Sandy Cove…not ONLY for the exercise, or to cool off, or to experience an adrenaline rush or to get sore muscles and feel like you’ve accomplished something. When we play together, we build bonds, strengthen relationships and make memories, and that’s what it’s all about!
Please note some of our activities are “age graded” for maximum safety and enjoyment of the participants.
Fun stuff available at scheduled times:
Swimming
• Enclosed sports pool and hot tub
• Outdoor swimming pools/ kiddie pool.
Modest swimsuits are required for adults and children (one-piece for girls of all ages, baggy shorts for men and boys)

High Adventure & Marina
These activities require a signed waiver form be filled out and signed for all participants. These are activities that can be dangerous, particularly if participants ignore rules and instructions or do not use common sense. The waiver makes people aware of risk, and allows them to limit our liability in exchange for permission to participate in these activities.
• Zip line (must be at least 12 years old)
• Big swing (must be at least 12 years old)
• Rock climbing wall (must be at least 8 years old)
• Wave cutter/tube rides
• Pontoon boat cruises
• Canoes, Kayaks & Paddleboats
QuikTiks is a system we use for just a few popular activities, to help people not spend too much time waiting in line. The ticket is for a specific activity on a specific day and time, and holds your spot for you. Most of our activities have little or no wait, but we’ll use QuikTiks for any activity involving being dragged behind a boat: wavecutter, tubing, waterskiing, kneeboarding, & wakeboarding. Our goal is to give at least one ride on one of these to everyone who is interested – you’ll just have to decide on the method of dragging each family member would prefer. A couple weeks before your arrival, we’ll email you instructions to select your QuikTik so it’s ready when you get here. Also we’ll use QuikTiks for Pony Rides, because efficiency is good when you have 4 year olds waiting in line… Those will NOT be online – just pick them up at the Kalbach Welcome Center when you come. Likewise, tickets for the pontoon boat will be at the KWC when you come.
“We connected as a family! Both kids want to come back.”
Kim, Virginia Beach, VA
“We were able to rest from our regular busyness and grow as a family.” Alison, Union, NJ

Chris has also appeared at world famous venues like Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Baltimore Inner Harbor. Hundreds of churches from all denominations have welcomed Chris’s creative mixture of ministry and juggling to spread the gospel in new and exciting ways. Character Juggler Chris Ivey will astound and entertain with a show you will never forget!
Nursery: During a few of the sessions, we offer nursery care for children 0-4 years old. They are welcome in the session, and we expect a little more noise and wiggling, but sometimes they can distract mom, or dad or the older kids from fully participating. So, nursery care is just an option, if that will work better for your family.

If you are a guest staying in the lodge, meals are a part of your package. These are served buffet style, typically with a “kiddie bar” featuring items kids are more willing to eat, as well as the regular “adult food” buffet. If you or a family member has food allergies, or other medically related food restrictions we can help with that – just fill out the “Food for Thought” form. Then let your server know when you come, so they can connect you with alternative food items when required.
If you are a guest in the Campgrounds, food is not included in that package, so you will want to plan accordingly. The log cabins have kitchenettes, but you’ll need to bring your own pots and pans.
“I appreciate Sandy Cove because where else can you go and have food and activities inclusive in a Christian environment?! My four children had a great time!” Tina, Lorton, VA

“This weekend brought our family together in new ways! We’ve committed to more time together as a family and as a husband and wife.”
Walls Family, Kinzers, PA
“We just had a great Memorial Day weekend getaway here with all of our kids. It was fantastic in every way! It was the perfect combination of family fun, constructive family activities and spiritual learning and growth opportunities. A few days after we returned home, 3 of the kids were talking about the 10 commandments and trying to remember them in order! We are praying together more and having more conversations about “real” issues and not just about sports, television, or other meaningless fodder! Everyone has asked, “when can we go back?” and I’m certain that we will this year. The scenery is really beautiful and there are so many fun things to do for everyone! Thank you Sandy Cove for all that you do and for such a great value for families.”
John, posted to Sandy Cove Facebook
“Your way to get our family active and have fun but still learn of Christ and His ways was wonderful!”
Andrew, Wayne, NJ
“It was wonderful just having vacation time with my son! As a single parent, I’m always the one responsible for the organizing, meal prep, cleanup etc. Having that taken care of ministered to me in a very meaningful way.”
Jane, Heathsville, VA
“Great family bonding time! Thanks for helping us be intentional.”
Amy, Odenton, MD
“Through all the various indoor and outdoor activities, I was able to connect with different families who were like-minded in our desire to more like Christ!”
Nathita, Bronx, NY
“We were able to relax and enjoy God’s creation and take the time to enjoy how special each of our children are and how they all have different strengths!”
Shara, Pasadena, MD
“We are more committed to being what God wants us to be as parents, and are talking to our kids about their lives with more confidence because of the encouragement given this weekend.”
