    Ferree Hardy

Ferree (rhymes with "Marie") was a pastor's wife for over twenty years before her  husband died instantly of a brain aneurism. Gone in a heartbeat! She had no idea how she and their three teens could live without his zest for life, his godly wisdom and love, and his actually funny jokes.

She hated the first grief group she attended. She even hated the word "widow." But then she discovered that most widows are courageous, awesome and fascinating. She's been listening to, writing for, and helping them ever since.

Remarried for a number of years, she recently moved from South Carolina to the snowy Adirondack Mountains of New York for her husband's job. Now a goal in life is to stay warm! She also aims to raise a small flock of chickens, bake the best muffins ever, and see how many widows she can welcome to her new home.

Ferree holds a BA in Communications from Moody Bible Institute. Her love for Jesus, and knowledge of the church, Bible study methods, and small group dynamics continually fuels her personal calling to widows ministry.

Join her in life's bumps, "buts" and blessings through her book Postcards from the Widows' Path, her blog at WidowsChristianPlace.com and her column in Plain Values magazine.
