Join us for our popular May Women’s Weekend Getaway at Sandy Cove! Spring is in the air – and a weekend retreat of worshipping and fellowship with hundreds of other women, will refresh your Spirit!
When God really wants to get your attention, He doesn’t just whisper something once – He echoes. He may grab your attention while reading a scripture, only to have the same passage addressed during the Sunday sermon. You think it’s just coincidence until the topic pops up in a chance conversation with a friend the next morning, and again that afternoon in an email. The same theme, idea, impression, or lesson will repeat itself in surprising and unexpected ways until you realize that maybe, just maybe, God is at work! This unforgettable weekend will be an invitation to hear God’s voice and obey.
Margaret Feinberg, Speaker
Authentic. Genuine. Winsome.
A popular speaker at churches and leading conferences such as Catalyst, CreationFest, and YouthSpecialties, Margaret Feinberg invites people to discover the relevance of God and His Word in a postmodern world.
Feinberg serves as part of the core team for the Origins Project, a movement of people committed to Jesus, humanity, and innovation. She is on the board for the National Association of Evangelicals, and was recently named by Charisma magazine as one of the “30 Emerging Voices” who will help lead the church in the next decade and by Christian Retailing as one of the “40 under 40” who will shape Christian publishing. Feinberg has written more than a dozen books including the critically-acclaimed The Organic God, The Sacred Echo and Scouting the Divine, and their corresponding DVD Bible studies. While her books Twentysomething and What the Heck Am I Going to Do With My Life? established her as an expert on reaching the next generation, people of all ages connect with her relational teaching style.
Margaret currently lives in Morrison, Colorado, with her 6′8″ husband, Leif and five pound toy poodle Hershey. When she’s not writing or traveling, she enjoys anything outdoors, lots of laughter and communicating with her readers.
Frances Drost is a concert artist and inspirational speaker who began her own company, "Musical Creations" as a way to encourage people on their journey through life. She skillfully combines music, teaching, and speaking. As both a singer and songwriter, Frances has a unique way of presenting real-life experiences and meaningful messages that are subtly woven throughout her music. In fact, it has been said, "Be careful about inviting Frances to your home; she may write a song about you." Having served for a total of 10 years on staff as the Director of Worship at two different churches, Frances brings that experience into her worship leading. As a worship leader, she has shared many platforms with well-known author and Women of Faith speaker, Carol Kent. Frances is also a songwriter for Songs Of Love - a nonprofit organization that connects songwriters with terminally ill children. The songwriter writes a song for the family with their child as the star of the song. This is an awesome way to encourage children and reinforce how beautiful they are and help carry them through difficult times.
"Hand Painted" - her most recent project, is an instrumental project consisting of 11 contemporary praise and worship tunes and is a joint production between herself and Jeff Anderson (Nashville, TN) featuring piano along with a full band. Frances was the also the winner of the 2009 Momentum Award for "Female Artist Of The Year" and was also nominated for "Inspirational Artist Of The Year" at the 2009 Momentum Awards ceremony in Nashville, TN.
Breakout Session: Hang On to that Seed!
Every one of us has been given a seed that contains our potential, gifts and abilities. Adam and Eve were given a seed of promise, but the enemy stole their seed and changed humanity forever. Abraham was given a seed of promise and though he got impatient about it, he did eventually see it unfold. Mary, the mother of Jesus was given a seed of promise too and she responded with the simple words - "Let it be to me according to your word!" Using the parable of the seed and the sower, we will discover enemies of the seeds God has given us and how to hang on to them.
Sue McMillin, Session 3 Keynote and Breakout Speaker
Sue McMillin, as a tiny baby girl was victim of a mother who chose a husband over a child. Her mother gave her up moments after the birth, and was placed in a foster home where the foster mother took full advantage of the system, as well as the money intended for food and nurturing. At eight months old, authorities rescued the baby and 10 other children. When rescued, she weighed ten pounds, didn’t know how to eat and was emotionally and physically starving.
Sue says, “I can never repay the love of Frazier and his wife Smiley McMillin, who reclaimed the life of a discarded infant and adopted me. I cannot help but be thankful that God ‘reached down from heaven and took me and drew me out of deep waters.’”(Psalm 18:16)
Currently, Sue is the president of With Time to Spare and leads seminars for Fortune 500 clients, businesses and churches across the country. She says, “My job is to bring organization out of chaos. That is what God did for me as a tiny, abused baby. He brought order out of chaos. As I share my organization skills, I pray for opportunities to share how God can bring order into our lives as well.”
A national speaker, Sue has been featured in the Washington Post, Changing Times, The Godly Business Woman, Focus on the Family Magazines and other publications. She is the author of eleven books including Taken By Surprise, If I File It, Can I Find It? and The Organized Home.
