Jonathan Wood, The Raptor Project

Jonathan is a master falconer and wildlife rehabilitator. He will do a big show Friday night involving about 15 different birds. The show is exciting, educational, funny and fast paced. He and his family will stay on throughout the weekend, and provide several more sessions and demonstrations (including an American heritage patriotic presentation with a bald eagle).

Steven Courtney Band

Kids love the music… parents love the message. From "42 Monkeys" to "Happy Go Lucky Shoes," Courtney provides fun upbeat tunes filled with musical hooks that mom and dad enjoy with their kids. Having composed and recorded over 200 songs in the span of 13 years Courtney has something to say to everyone.

Ryan and Friends

Ryan Bomgardner and Friends have been a big hit at Sandy Cove in recent years. As a popular comedian in the U.S., Ryan receives over 600 performance invitations and accepts 130 of these annually. Whether it's his laugh-crazed family show or his dynamic corporate gigs, there are two things his audiences have come to expect: a clean show and sidesplitting comedy!

Kidz Blitz Live

This is a show, but the audience gets to participate too! High energy, lots of fun for kids and parents alike. Has a gospel presentation, good for outreach. Here are some things for those of you who are saying "Yeah, but give me some more details!"

Well, hopefully you have picked up on the idea that these weekends are for families, and about how our families can glorify God together. The weekends have 3 main components – Family shows, sessions, and free time. (Well, there are meals and sleeping, but you knew that, right?)

The family shows are on Friday and Sunday nights, and designed for the whole family to enjoy. Sometimes there will be a bit of a message included, but they will always be fun, and make you laugh, no matter what age you are.

The sessions are Sat, Sun and Mon AM, and then a special one Sat night too… These include a time of family worship (no, we don’t worship families, but we do sing songs together – some silly and some serious) and then some teaching time. But since parents and kids are all in these sessions together, we don’t just lecture for 45 minutes while the kids climb the walls! We make these times interactive and engaging, often having activities that help everyone understand and remember the points of the lessons. And parents, our goal is to affirm you in the role that God has placed you in, so we are going to help you be the "experts" that your kids are looking to for help. These sessions are unique, so I can’t tell you exactly what will happen at each, but it will probably be noisier and wigglier than your average church meeting, but that’s OK because we are learning and growing together! Just in case you are wondering, we will offer nursery care during the AM sessions for kids 4 and under – not that we mind them being in the session, but just in case they are distracting the rest of the family from participating fully…

The other times are free time for families! Some activities like the playground, mini golf, shuffleboard, Frisbee golf, etc. are available all the time, and then we’ll also be scheduling the swimming pool, boating and the wavecutter, the moon bounce, pony rides, the big swing, and other activities throughout the weekend. We try to have lots for everyone, and plenty of things you can do together!

Just so you know, because of the requirements of travel on Friday afternoon/evening, many families have to grab dinner "on the road" – therefore we have not added that in to the package for the weekend. So you may check in at 4 PM on Friday, but dinner will be on your own. Similarly, many wish to hit the road right after the closing session on Monday because they can’t wait to get back and prepare for school… well, anyway, that is why breakfast Monday is included, but not lunch…

So, if you are ready to celebrate your family, and be intentional about strengthening those relationships that God has blessed you with, (and have a barrel of fun in the process…) come on over!
