Rise & Shine! We’re going to leave Sandy Cove via coach bus at 9:00 am, so set your alarm and get to the breakfast table early.
We’ll drive straight to Mount Harmon plantation in Earleville, one of Maryland’s most beautiful historic sites. Mount Harmon features a restored 18th century manor house, colonial kitchen, formal boxwood garden, tobacco prize house, 200 acres of pristine open space, nature trails, and a spectacular waterfront setting. We’ll take a couple hours to tour and work up an appetite!

For lunch, we’ll enjoy a buffet at the Kitty Knight House. Our menu includes Eastern Shore Crab Cake, Sliced Roast Beef Au Jus, Chicken Cordon Bleu, double stuffed potato, asparagus, rolls and butter, brownie/cookie tray, hot and cold beverages. Located atop the banks of the Sassafras River in Georgetown, Maryland, the Kitty Knight is steeped in rich history. From the ambiance of the dining rooms to the The Deck, The Kitty Knight offers a spectacular view of the harbor while enjoying innovative cuisine. After our meal, we’ll get a chance to look around the Kitty Knight house.

Next stop is Chesapeake City! We’ll visit the C&D Canal Museum, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It is housed in the original canal pump house with a waterwheel and pumping engines. The museum illustrates the canal's history and operations. Current operations can be viewed through a television monitor which gives visitors up-to-the minute locations on ships as they travel through the canal.

And there are other sites to see as we wander around Chesapeake City!

We plan to arrive back at Sandy Cove around 5:00 pm, to give you time to freshen up a bit before dinner. After dinner we’ll have a chance to relax and enjoy more good fellowship, and maybe a swim or a snack, before turning in for a good night’s sleep.
