Special Guests

Pamala Kennedy-Chestnut, guest speaker

Pam's Breakout Session
This is an honest as well as fun session on how to turn up the flame or re-ignite intimacy gone cold in marriage. You will get practical ideas on:
  • How to communicate love in various ways
  • Add creativity and fun to the daily grind
  • Develop intimacy
  • Stay attractive in spirit, mind and body
  • Experience the extraordinary marriage that God intended for you to have
Pamala Kennedy-Chestnut In times of superficial relationships, Pamala desires to help women connect at a deeper level with God and other women. She invites women to join her in the refining process that will purify their lives and discover a new level of intimacy with God and others. Her teaching on faith is full of passion, because of her strong belief that we all have purpose and destiny in God's flow of activity in the world. She offers hope and courage as she shares honestly the good, bad and sometimes painful lessons learned as a mother of three grown children, Mimi to five grandchildren and caregiver to a terminally ill family member. Pamala's life story has been forged in the fires of suffering. She wants her teaching and testimony to offer more than bumper sticker slogans, she aspires to walk in truth and to be genuine.

Laura Trapp Rodich, guest speaker

Laura's Breakout Session
In this session, we want to talk honestly about how to deal with crises in the Pastor's home. While family crises hit all homes, when it happens in OUR glass house, it is there for all to see. Through Laura's own testimony, she will share valuable lessons 'learned in the fire' and give you some solid biblical counsel regarding facing your own crisis triumphantly.
Laura Trapp Rodich Laura was the "preacher's wife," in Southern Baptist life and ministry for 27 years. During these years of ministry the Lord gave her consistent opportunities to teach adults in Bible study and to form and lead women's ministries. During all the years of their ministry, Laura and her husband Bill consistently saw the touch of revival and fruit, as men and women were brought to faith in Christ and grew in their knowledge of Him. The churches where they ministered were 'alive' churches, growing and often leading their area in baptisms.

In 1997, a surprise diagnosis of Lou Gehrig's disease in Brother Bill, Laura's apparently healthy husband, sent their lives and church spinning, turning their world upside down. But, in suffering and trial, God has a way of turning things right side up. Three and one half years later, Bill was called to be with Jesus, but he left behind a church family that was CHANGED by the exercise of faith, as they stormed heaven in intercession for their beloved pastor. Bill was not healed as they had prayed, but in the aftermath, there is a legacy of faith that has endured. Lessons of faith and triumph, learned in the fire, combined with 30 years of Bible teaching, make for a powerful ministry to women struggling with their own private pain.

Alicia Williamson Garcia, worship leader & concert artist

Alicia's Breakout Session
"I know we pray Jesus to our hearts, but I think it's not workin'!" - David Garcia, 5 years old. These were the words of my 5 year old son, David, just days after we were at a Franklin Graham Kid's Festival, when David confirmed his decision to trust Jesus Christ as his Lord. David was doing his own thing, (in my office), and I needed him to settle down, but he just couldn't. Our relationship was strained. Then came his confession. What about you? Have you "prayed Jesus to your heart?" Is it workin'? Let's talk about how a right relationship with God determines the success of every relationship we will ever encounter, long or short term.
Alicia Williamson Garcia Blending articulate communication with heartfelt emotion, Alicia reaches her audiences with a clear knowledge of the gospel and a genuine desire to see lives changed, to the glory of God! There are multitudes of people who believe the message of the gospel, but it takes a special gift to passionately voice God's truth in a way that truly impacts lives. Alicia Williamson Garcia has that gift. She says that God has given us music to open the heart and His infallible Word to fill the heart and change our lives.

For Women Only. The Pastors’ Wives Conference is designed as a women’s event and therefore it is for women only. We feel strongly about providing an environment at this conference where women feel safe to be real in their roles and will be free to express their struggles about those roles as pastors’ wives. All meal times are a natural extension of the entire conference and therefore fellowship with other women at meals is vital to the overall experience. The presence of husbands, babies and children at this conference would jeopardize the stated ministry purpose for this event. For pastors’ wives who want to have their husbands with them at Sandy Cove, we provide the Church Leadership Conference and the Mini Sabbaticals in which they can participate.
