Operation Oasis Outreach
Thousands of our troops spent long hours and harrowing days in Iraq in recent months. Their ordeal was for the cause of freedom, both in the United States and abroad. Here and there they saw an OASIS, but had little time to appreciate the desert rest stop.
Military stress takes an immense toll on both the soldier and his/her family. Unless one has experienced the ravages of war, it is hard to imagine the post-trauma effects that result from such an encounter. Chaplains, from all branches of the service, speak of withdrawal, increased violence, sleeplessness, and other social difficulties.
After World War II, under Dr. George Palmer's leadership, the needs of thousands of soldiers were met through "Welcome House" in New Jersey and "Victory Center" in Philadelphia.
Sandy Cove would like to do the same for military families who were involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom - families in need of rest, a mini-vacation, and a Christian atmosphere.

We currently offer Operation Oasis Outreach to any of our country's military families who need a time to rest and reconnect after deployment. Couples and families can join us either at any of our overnight events such as our Summer Together program, Couples Weekends, Father & Son Weekend, Holiday events (and more...) or come on a personal retreat without participating in a Sandy Cove event.
Normally it would cost $1800 for a family of four for a 5-night stay or $398 for a couples’ weekend. It is our hope to offer a stay at Sandy Cove as our gift and "thank you" to those who sacrificed so much.
