New President Chosen

December 12th 2005 at 11:53 a.m. After an extensive, nearly four month search, carefully wading through over 30 candidates, the Sandy Cove Board of Directors unanimously chose former ministry member, Mark P. Fisher (1991-1996) to lead Sandy Cove into the future.

As Sandy Cove begins its 60th year, Mark brings a loving concern and a contagious enthusiasm for our Lord, His Word and His people. Through his leadership skills and example, Mark possesses a strong desire to encourage and be encouraged by people. Search committee members Mr. Jim Herr, Dr. Dorothea Johnson, Mr. Dee Adcock, Mr. James H. McAteer and Mr. Bob Wood submitted a 25-page summary to the full board of their findings of what God has done in Mark's life since leaving Maryland nearly 10 years ago. In that summary the search committee recommended Mark as the man they believed God would use to lead the ministry. The unanimous vote was cast by the full Board and effective January 1st, 2006 Mark P. Fisher will be our new President.
"Lori and I are excited and overwhelmed to be chosen to lead this enduring ministry," commented Mark. "When our founder, Dr. George A. Palmer, began this ministry in the early 1930's he was an innovator. I pray that our team will follow in his path and be used by God to dream dreams of innovation so that more people connect with God and one another in His creation like never before."
