We know sleep is an important part of your stay! We are committed to providing clean, comfortable lodging so you can be well rested and better able to connect with God and each other. The Chesapeake Lodge offers hotel-style rooms and suites, and the Campgrounds offer log cabins, rustic cabins and sites for group tent camping, seasonal camping, popups and RVs.

Please Note: The Water’s Edge Dining Room may have meals available, although availability is not guaranteed (unless stated in your package). Please inquire about meals when you check in. There is no restaurant on property. Room service is not available.

A Note about Technology
We encourage people to disconnect (from cell phones, TV, computer, etc) in order to reconnect (with God, family and friends) and this is the main reason we do not have televisions in the guest rooms. Even people with initial misgivings about this are usually thankful for a break from TV by the end of their stay. We also understand that not everyone can completely disconnect, and therefore we have limited wireless access throughout the Chesapeake Lodge and a computer kiosk in the Morning Cheer Café beside the Front Desk. There is also a TV room on the 1st floor just off the main lobby that you can access with your room key, as well as a TV in the fitness center. Cell coverage is generally good on the grounds, but can diminish the “deeper” you get into the lodge.

Guest Rooms
Sandy Cove offers seven different room types in our Chesapeake Lodge. There are a total of 150 guest rooms and suites, all of which are located on three floors in our main conference center facility. Each room can also accommodate either a cot or a pack-n-play style crib, which allows for an extra guest in each room (available first come, first serve basis – no additional charge).

Standard Deluxe Room
Sandy Cove offers seven different room types in our Chesapeake Lodge. There are a total of 150 guest rooms and suites, all of which are located on three floors in our main conference center facility. Each room can also accommodate either a cot or a pack-n-play style crib, which allows for an extra guest in each room (available first come, first serve basis – no additional charge).

Family Deluxe Room
The family deluxe room is our largest occupancy guest room to accommodate larger families, or groups that may want to put five, six or seven guests in each room. This room type has one queen size bed, two extra long twin beds, and two love seat sleepers with deluxe mattresses. A special feature about this room is the second sink located outside the bathroom. It can comfortably sleep 5 or 6 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 7 guests per room. There are a total of 25 family deluxe rooms available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Standard Suite
The standard suite is a favorite accommodation since it has two separate rooms. There is one queen size bed in a private bedroom, plus two love seat sleepers with deluxe mattresses and a desk and chair in the front room. Between the two rooms is the full bathroom, which separates the room nicely. It can comfortably sleep 3 or 4 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests per room. There are a total of 14 standard suites available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Handicap Accessible Room
The handicap accessible room meets ADA standards, with wider doorways to accommodate a wheelchair, a higher toilet, a walk in/roll in shower with chair and support rails throughout the bathroom. This room types has one queen size bed, a lounge chair recliner, two love seat sleepers with deluxe mattresses, plus a desk and chair. Each of these rooms connects to an adjoining standard deluxe room in order to accommodate a care giver, or the need to have someone close by. It can comfortably sleep 3 or 4 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests per room. There are a total of 3 handicap accessible rooms available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Center Parlor
The center parlor is a unique shaped room that can almost be considered a one-room suite. This room type has one king size poster bed, a lounge chair recliner, plus a desk and chair. It can comfortably sleep 1 or 2 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 3 guests per room. There are a total of 4 center parlors available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Deluxe Suite
The deluxe suite is a large two room suite with a nice corner view of the bay. There is a queen size poster bed in a private bedroom, plus two love seat sleepers with deluxe mattresses and a desk and chair in the spacious front room. Between the two rooms is the full bathroom, along with a small refrigerator and microwave. It can comfortably sleep 3 or 4 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests per room. There are a total of 3 deluxe suites available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Master Suite
The master suite is a large two room suite with a nice corner view of the bay. There is a king size poster bed in a private bedroom, plus two love seat sleepers with deluxe mattresses and a desk and chair in the spacious front room. Between the two rooms is the full bathroom, which has a walk-in shower, a jetted-style bath tub, plus a double sink. The room also has a small refrigerator and microwave. It can comfortably sleep 3 or 4 guests, with a maximum occupancy of 5 guests per room. There are a total of 3 master suites available in the Chesapeake Lodge.

Bunk Houses
Perfect for a youth retreat! The bunk houses are two buildings just a short walk up the hill from the main lodge. Each bunk house has bunk beds to accommodate 20 people, plus a twin bed for a chaperone, with lots of floor space. Each bunk house has a bathroom with stand-up showers, multiple sinks and toilets. Unheated - available for group use May-early June, and late August- September.

Another Retreat Location!
Why not hold your retreat in the Blue Ridge Mountains? Additional retreat accommodations are available at Camp Sandy Cove, our summer camp facility in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Winchester, Virginia. Specializing in youth retreats, Camp Sandy Cove offers rustic but comfortable dormitory style accommodations, as well as a limited number of semi-private rooms, available for group rental from May through mid-June and mid-August through September. The facilities include two outdoor pools, a challenge course (with a zip line that takes you zooming over our lake), full meal plans, a large dining hall, meeting rooms to accommodate groups of 10 to 400 people, a lake for canoeing, fishing and much more!
