Home : About Sandy Cove : Landmarks of Sandy Cove, A Message Delivered by Rev. Jack Palmer, Summer 2006

On the edge of my seat...
That is the best way to describe my posture during this message by our founder’s son Rev. Jack Palmer [July 9, 2006]. Not long into Jack’s message, my wife, Lori, leaned over and said, "I think you may want to write this down." She was right. Here are the landmarks our ministry was founded on. It is my hope that we stay true to God and His ways as we lead Sandy Cove into the next chapter of ministry.

Landmarks of Sandy Cove

Proverbs 22:28 Sandy Cove came into existence with very defined landmarks or boundaries. These boundaries define the parameters, set the limits, remind us of the past and are restrictions for the present and the future. They are not to be moved or removed.

Landmarks of Sandy Cove, 1 hr 2 mins
  1. Prayer… Sandy Cove was birthed, bathed and built with prayer. This ministry came into existence as a result of prayer.

  2. Faith… Sandy Cove was a faith ministry from the very start, trusting God to meet needs.

  3. Solid Bible teaching and preaching…Sandy Cove’s original name was Bible Conference and God’s Word must continue to be studied.

  4. Spiritual Retreat from the world… Sandy Cove was a place to come in out of the storm, a haven of rest for the weary. Then refreshed, we can influence the world for Christ without compromise.

  5. The Lord’s Day was sacred…Sunday was not a "fun" day. The day should be set apart for the Lord.

  6. Salvation of the Lost… evangelism was always a thrust in this ministry. We were burdened for lost souls and rejoiced in reports of children saved at camp or in the Tabernacle.

  7. Building up the saints… Sandy Cove was a place where people could go to sit under the teaching of some of the best preachers in America.

  8. God would be glorified in everything that happened here. Sandy Cove was a work of God…we’re just people He uses. We don’t want to touch the glory of God!

  9. World missions…Sandy Cove was involved from the very beginning with missions. (Phil Foxwell in Japan, Paul Roberts in South America, Tom Major in India, Henry Hiremans in Europe). The world was brought in so that people could see beyond themselves…it’s all about Jesus!

  10. Sacrificial giving… George Palmer loved to shear the sheep! And, he taught the people of God the joy of sacrificial giving.
