Maggie Hogan is an author, publisher and nationally–recognized speaker who is easily distracted by all things geography, history and science–related. She lives in Dover, DE with her husband, Bob and two spoiled cats. Maggie is the co-author of The Ultimate Geography and Timeline Guide, Gifted Children at Home, Young Scholar’s Guide to Classical Composers and other resource books. She has transformed the barn on her property into an office which houses Bright Ideas Press, publishers of the all new Illuminations curriculum as well as award winning: The Mystery of History series, Christian Kids Explore series and All American History series. When not reading, writing, or playing with her grandbaby, you can find her drooling over travel magazines. She's passionate about Christ, family, books, travel, homeschooling, and chocolate—not necessarily in that order. Since beginning homeschooling in 1991 she has spoken across the country and in Canada, written numerous articles and books, appeared on radio and TV, and encouraged to thousands via homeschooling and women's conferences (and to random strangers on the street). She wants her headstone to read, "Been there—done that, had a blast and praise God: now I'm HOME!"

"When Mama Ain't Happy . . . "
Unlike the rest of the world, Christians should NOT be ending this old adage with: "ain't nobody happy.” No, "if Mama ain't happy” she'd better get her act together. How easily we fall into the trap of thinking it is all about us. Our kids, our homeschooling, our problems, our . . . whatever. Dear ones, it is NOT all about us. It is about the Lord. Do we know what the Lord wants for us? Yes, we do—the Bible clearly spells it out. Come learn what it means to be a “happy” Christian woman, content in being in the will and the arms of our Lord. Imagine what your homeschooling will look like when it reflects Christ—not you!!
