WILDERNESS CAMPGROUND

The Wilderness Campground is a wooded camping area located near the entrance of Sandy Cove and is approximately 1 mile from the main conference center. The Wilderness Campground provides families with a quiet and peaceful camping setting. The Wilderness Campground is the home of all seasonal campers! Plus there are a few additional sites for non- seasonal campers. Some sites are ideal for tent campers with no hookups provided. Other sites can accommodate trailers or motor homes, with 2 point hookups available (water and electric). All sites have fire rings and picnic tables.

Honey Wagon service and a dump station provided. There is a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities and a pavilion. Maximum occupancy: 8 people per site. A two-night minimum stay is required.

PIONEER CAMPGROUND and RV PARK




The Pioneer Campground and RV Park offers a family friendly camping atmosphere within walking distance of the main conference center. It offers three types of lodging, coin-op laundry facilities, as well as a swimming pool, small playground, picnic grove and a centrally located bathhouse with free restroom and hot shower facilities. The camp store carries basic groceries, ice and ice cream novelties.

Pioneer Campsites

Campers desiring 2- or 3-point hookups should consider a site in the Pioneer Campground, which accommodates trailers and motor homes. All sites have fire rings and picnic tables. A dump station is available for use. Maximum occupancy: 8 people per site. A two-night minimum stay is required.


Rustic Cabins

The Rustic Cabins are air-conditioned cabins that sleep a maximum of 6 people and include a full bathroom. One room has a queen bed, the other room has 2 sets of bunk beds. No linens, kitchen facilities or housekeeping services are provided. Charcoal grill, fire ring and picnic table are available on site. A two-night minimum stay is required.



Log Cabins

Pamper your family by choosing a Log Cabin! Most measure 27' x 14'7", with a 6' porch. One handicap-accessible cabin is available. There is a set of bunk beds in one room, a living area with a futon, a separate bedroom with a double bed and a loft with 2 single beds. Each cabin sleeps a maximum of 8 people and includes a full large bathroom. Each has A/C and heat, and a kitchen unit with a refrigerator/freezer, 2-burner stove, microwave, sink and table with 4 chairs. NEW! All linens are included. No kitchen supplies are provided. Charcoal grill and picnic table are available on site.

SPORTS & ACTIVITIES



There is a lot to do at Sandy Cove! Many activities are seasonal, but others are available for year-round fun.

  • Tennis courts, volleyball, basketball and sports fields
  • Nature trails, fishing and a variety of marina activities
  • Miniature Golf
  • Enclosed sports pool and hot tub, large pool and kiddie pool near the Lodge, as well as the Pioneer campground pool.

At special times we also offer water aerobics, rock climbing wall, ziplines, Moon Bounce and more!

  • Campers must register at the Camp Office
  • No pets in Pioneer. Sandy Cove will allow dogs in the Wilderness
  • Campground only. See "Doggy Rules."
  • No alcoholic beverages
  • Buildings are smoke-free
  • Modest swimsuits are required for adults and children (one-piece for girls of all ages, baggy shorts for men and boys)

  • Central Firepit in each campground
  • Clean Bathhouses with hot showers and flush toilets
  • Full access to main conference grounds
  • When applicable, access to speakers, activities and more
  • There is no restaurant on the grounds. The Chesapeake Lodge has a dining room that may have meals available.
  • There is also a seasonal Snack Shop with limited hours. Please inquire when you check in.
  • Camp Store -The camp store features ice, sundries, snack items and very limited groceries. The camp store also has a small free library of books, games and puzzles that campers may borrow during their stay at Sandy Cove. Camp Store hours vary.

Campground Personal Retreat Rates:
When you camp with us, your stay is called a Campground Personal Retreat. In other words, enjoy your time away from everyday life…retreat! Do what you want, when you want.

Wilderness $35 per night ($50 deposit or balance if less than three nights)
Pioneer $45 per night ($50 deposit or balance if less than three nights)

General Reservation Information

  • For Wilderness reservations, call 800.234.COVE (2683) and ask for Charlene. For Pioneer Campground and RV Park reservations, call 800.234.COVE (2683) and ask for Charlene or Marsha.
  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
  • Kids 0-3 are always FREE!
  • When possible, specific site requests are honored, but not guaranteed. Sandy Cove will assign exact sites/cabin to best suit the size of your family and camping unit.

Personal Retreat Payment Policies

  • A $50 deposit is required at time of reservation to reserve any Personal Retreat stay in the Campgrounds at Sandy Cove. Payment in full is due at the time of arrival.
  • Cancellations may be made 48 hours or more prior to the guest's intended date of arrival with no penalty. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the intended arrival date or no-shows will result in loss of deposit.

Sandy Cove Event Payment Policies
(not including Summer Together Family Camp Weeks)

  • When making a reservation for an event more than 6 months in advance, you must either pay in full at time of reservation or pay 50% at time of reservation, with the remaining 50% due 6 months prior to the event. Authorization for automatic payment at 6 months prior must be given at time of initial payment.
  • When making reservations within 6 months of an event, full payment is due at time of reservation.

Cancellations

  • For cancellations 0 – 3 months prior to an event: No refunds or transfers
  • For cancellations 3 or more months prior to an event: you may transfer 50% of what you have paid to another event. The other 50% is non-refundable.
  • If you are not able to keep your reservation to come to a Sandy Cove event, you may find a replacement to take your spot, with no penalty. Please call and let us know the name of the substitute guest(s). The amount paid on the reservation will be applied/transferred to the new guest, not refunded. (Please settle finances directly with your replacement).
  • At your request, we will try to re-sell a site/cabin by offering it to a guest on the wait list if applicable. If Sandy Cove is able to re-sell a site/cabin and find a replacement from our wait list, we will offer to transfer 50% of the monies paid to a future Sandy Cove event, if applicable. If no other event is possible, a 50% refund will be offered. We will retain the other 50% of monies paid as a non-refundable deposit.

Sandy Cove is a non-denominational, non-profit Christian conference center offering year-round programs for adults, families and children. When camping during our Summer Together Family Camp program, campers are entitled to participate in the services and activities. The purpose of family max pricing is to provide affordability for parents with children through a simplified rate structure. We generally define "family" as related members living in the same household. Please remember, due to fire codes all housing options have a maximum occupancy.
