Turkey Point Lighthouse is just one of many scenic and historic sites close to Sandy Cove. Just 7 miles south of Sandy Cove road on Route 272, you'll encounter a beautiful high bluff with an unsurpassed view of Chesapeake Bay, overlooking the Elk and North East Rivers. The lighthouse is a one mile hike from the parking area at the end of the road.

North East is a town looking towards the future while preserving its historical small town charm. Settled prior to 1700 and incorporated in 1850, North East today is a tourist destination for visitors who like regional foods, antique and collectible shopping and history.
