Instructions from AOL.
AOL's Advanced Spam Filtering will automatically move junk mail and unwanted mail into your Spam folder. This process is simple, automatic, and personalized to how you use mail. If filtering is on, Mail determined to be Spam by AOL's advanced technology will be automatically delivered to your Spam folder.

Go to the Manage Mail tab and look through the messages. If you see mail from recipients that you want mail from highlight the message and click on "This is Not Spam."

To turn off Advanced Spam Filtering, remove the mark from the checkbox on the Spam & Mail Controls' main screen.

To clear your individualized Advanced Spam Filter settings, click the Clear Filter button.
