Since 1946, Sandy Cove’s non-denominational, non-profit ministry has provided life-changing experiences through camps and conferences. In addition to hosting hundreds of church groups each year, Sandy Cove provides innovative programs for families, adults and children in two locations.
Our year round conference retreat center on the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay in North East, MD includes overnight accommodations of up to 1000 in the Chesapeake Lodge, seasonal cabins, RV campsites and campgrounds. Our 300-bed summer children’s program operates at Camp Sandy Cove near Winchester, VA.

Coordinate a range of services to support the individuals and groups attending group events as Sandy Cove Ministries. This position is responsible for daily coordination of all public areas and conference rooms. Handle all food service requests and ensure meeting set-up requirements, as well as being responsible for the coordination of audio-visual equipment. Coordinate facility usage, staffing and resources through the reservations system. Must be available some weekends and holidays. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and public speaking abilities. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation and demonstrated problem solving skills a plus. A college degree and 3+ years of event coordinating experience is required. Pay range begins at $30k base salary with commission/bonus structure, depending upon experience and abilities. Help to prepare the dining room for guests prior to meals, assists guests during meals with meeting needs and clean the dining room afterwards in preparation for the next meal. This position provides outstanding guest service to Sandy Cove Ministries’ guests in the Dining Room so that they are better able to connect with each other and God. Clean and set up meeting rooms, and help meet guest needs in order to provide a distraction free environment that enables guests to better connect with God and each other. Must be physically able to lift and move tables, chairs, and other conference equipment; have an ability to follow directions accurately and quickly; have the ability to learn new systems and procedures as services and equipment evolve; have organizational and time management skills; and demonstrated ability to properly work and care for technically oriented equipment. Assist in preparing, presenting, and cleaning up after guest and staff meals in a timely manner in order to provide an excellent dining experience free from distraction so that guests are better able to connect with God and each other. Must be organized, teachable, and able to work on a team in a fast paced environment. Prior experience in food services is a plus. Pay starts at $8.00 an hour.
